“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray””…

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. It’s funny how they didn’t ask Him to teach them to heal the leper, walk on water, or some other miracle they could see with their eyes. They saw the devotion He had in prayer and knew that was the source. Even though it was easy to struggle with unbelief, the disciples had enough faith and belief in who Jesus was that they asked Him to teach them how to commune with God. They bypassed the “great” results and manifestations of His prayer and desired to actually know God in prayer and tap into the Source.

Lord, let us be filled with a greater desire to be on our knees, sit in a quiet place, and give you time and attention to speak to us and receive Your direction. Let us not ever be so distracted with what Your power can accomplish that we lose sight of time spent with You. Amen.
